10.00 am K.O? That sounds like absolute bollocks.

The earliest morning K.O. I've ever known are the old Boxing day 11.00 am jobs - and they didn't last.

Re: What's the weirdest kick-off time you remember?
Sure a few years back we had several games at 11.00-11.30am on boxing day, then they started being moved back to midday and then 1pm.Think most games in London used to kick off early on Boxing day.

73/4 v Hereford was a Saturday at 1.45 (att 23,087)

Re: What's the weirdest kick-off time you remember?
I think at least one of the FA Cup games against Hereford was at a weird time, because of power strikes making evening ko's difficult.

Yes you are right about that FA Cup replay against Hereford around 1pm on a Wednesday afternoon. I was one of only what seemed like a handful of kids that were in school that afternoon

He who pays the piper calls the tune.

If the media (who underwrite virtually everything in top level professional football) decide that they want games scheduled to maximise advertising revenue from regions outside the UK, then those games will be so scheduled.

There's already talk floating around about European (cup) games being played off-region to maximise revenue.

Slowly, slowly, catchee monkey.

Re: What's the weirdest kick-off time you remember?
a million years ago when Sky was trying things out they made arse and totts? play at 10am, there was general uproar and they did not repeat it. I remember it was the early days of Wenger being a messiah and he said he just made the players just do everything 5 hours earlier which did not sound very sophisticated to me, mind you, they won.

Gillingham (a) in 2020 was 19:46 or 20:01 to give us a minute to reflect on mental health issues. Was very moving.

Leicester played at 3.30pm UK time last season in Russia for a Thursday EL game.

Re: What's the weirdest kick-off time you remember?
Several Premier League games kicked-off at 15:07.
In fact all league games kicked off 7mins late in 2014.
It was a Hillsborough anniversary.
The Hillsborough disaster game was abandoned @ 15:06.
The 7mins was composed of 6min + 1min silence.

Re: What's the weirdest kick-off time you remember?
I'm sure home to Chelsea in 88 (4-1) was a morning kick-off, ditto home to Millwall a year later.

I'm sure you're right Cholo. I seem to remember being up really early for that Millwall match. Took my Dad there for his first game. It was the week after Hillsboro and we won 3-0, all scored in the first half.

See? I remember all that but try and remember what I did yesterday, well good luck with that!

Oxsaw, yes it was, it was during Ted Heath's 1973/4 three day week so played early and no floodlights

When I was young I seem to remember that some of the games kicked off on a weekday afternoon and people had to go sick to attend, hoping they would not be filmed by Pathé News

Re: What's the weirdest kick-off time you remember?
I think the FA Cup (replay?) game against Hereford in the 70s was at a never to be repeated kick-off time/date, but there and again I'm an old git with dementia so may well have got that one wrong.

Plenty of 11am kick off's on boxing day and new years day. Stopped towards the end of the 80's iirc.

Re: What's the weirdest kick-off time you remember?
Although not professional football, in the town where I live and probably lots of others, there was a Thursday afternoon league as it was half day closing as most people worked six days then.
